Document editing underpins business software. It shouldn't lock you into a single vendor, format or costly license.
About us
QuireKit is an open-source project focused on document editors, started in June 2026. We write our own editing core, layout engine and component library, and build three editors on them: Classic, Block Editor and MD Editor.
Document editing underpins business software. It shouldn't lock you into a single vendor, format or costly license.
The editing core, the component library and the content editors are MIT, and the layout engine is AGPL; open-source projects can use commercial components free.
Classic, MD Editor and Block Editor use the public packages. We encounter the framework's limitations in our own products first.
We aim to make every capability on this site verifiable in a demo. We don't list features we haven't built.
QuireKit is growing quickly. If you share our belief in open document editing, we'd like to talk about investing, partnering, contributing or joining us.
